DMC Agent Uptime reporting

I am looking into whether it would be possible to use DMC to report on the system uptime for some of our key servers using the Agent Uptime feature. I’ve installed the Altiris agent and Altiris Monitor agent on a test server which is now registered in DMC. The Uptime reports detect a full power down or server restart and also if you manually stop and start the Altiris agent service which is a start. I also need to monitor whether the server is in a disconnected state (affectively down) and have this reflected in the uptime report. I’ve done some testing by physically disconnecting the server from the network however this downtime is not picked up in the agent Uptime report. The alert I have configured for a disconnected state is working and I have also amended the metrics for this to 60 sec. The question I have is whether this is something that the Uptime feature is capable of recording or if this is limited purely to the Agent service uptime and not it’s connectivity to DMC.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

thanks

Darren
