MD3000i: Snap/VDC activation snafu

How might someone activate the Snap/VDC licensing for a PowerVault MD3000i if the Premium Feature Activation was, say, thrown out when the array was unpacked? I just got off the phone with Tech Support for one of my customers that has this issue, got the always-satisfying "can't be done" answer. Help?

The person you talked in support was incorrect. This is done all the time. Contact tech support again and if they repeat this ask them to escalate to an analyst. All of them know how to do this.
