New version of OpenManage
Feb 19 2008, 9:49 AM EST A while back there was talk of a new version of openmanage based off of Altiris? Is this still around, and if so, where can I get information on it? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: New version of OpenManage
Mar 18 2008, 10:47 AM EDT Dell4Life, Altiris was acquired by Symantec, but the Dell Management Cosole is still underway at Dell. It will release sometime this year and be build on the Altiris Notification Server, the same platform which Dell Client Manager is built on. There are already some free products for Dell Server Management from Altiris that are built on the Notification Server. Those include Patch Management Solution for Dell Servers (www.altiris.com/dellpatch) and Monitor Solution for Dell Servers (www.altiris.com/dellmonitor). The Monitoring and Updating capabilities of the Dell Management console will be similar to these solutions which are available today, so I would encourage you to try them out. They are free.
