Jan 11 2008, 5:50 PM EST That 2650 has been a real workhorse for the lab. We have used it for a driver system, data collector, and who know what else as well as it's original purpose as an Oracle DB test server. It is one of my favorite servers. And I agree that maybe we should update the BIOS..... Todd 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: ora2650a
Jan 14 2008, 11:16 AM EST Yes, and it was the original system you first gave me access to when I started. I got my first two papers out of that system using it as a driver system. I'd like to do all the updates, but of course that means bringing the system down. I actually find myself wanting to not reboot it, more than the urge to do the updates. Kind of a testament to a machine well built that has been up for quite a long time. Anybody else got a machine out there that's been up for a long time ? Maybe we can start a Hall of Fame. Check this out --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uptime And luckily we are not running everything on a DOS/Win9x based kernel, or we would be rebooting every 49.7 days ! --> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q216641/ Do you find this valuable? |
