| Mike_Hester | OpenManage Server Administrator on Windows Server 2003 R2 | 1 | Monday, 11:40 AM EST by scott_hanson | |

Hi: When I install the Dell OM Server Administrator on a Windows 2003 R2 system, one of the "Informational Messages" that appears before the install indicates that the built-in Hardware Management tools available with Server 2003 R2 is not installed. However, if I go to install the tools (the IPMI drivers), it says I have to remove any other IPMI driver first. If I have used the Dell system setup disk to install Server 2003 R2, are any Dell IPMI drivers installed, or can I safely ignore this warning? Thanks

The VMware web site states that the latest version of ESX3i supports OpenManage 5.4 (http://www.vmware.com/support/vi3/doc/vi3_esx3i_i_35u1_vc25u1_rel_notes.html). Though I don't see any referenence to this anywhere. Is there a version of OpenManage that works with the 3i infrastructure?

using ita 8.2 ita can see the cmc & correctly places this in the device tree. BUT all the iDRAC's remain unknowen.
Also if I use the "troble shooting" tools the drac falis the snmp test . I have tested by setting both ends to the same (eg ita & idrac to a snmp name of "test" & then "public" ) No joy .

Is there an API that I can use to gather information from OpenManage on multiple servers? I would like to be able to schedule a batch job to gather basic info (# and type of processors, memory. disks, etc.) and put it into a database.

After clicking the link for any of the four ISOs there's info under "Installation Instructions" on how to stich them together.
