Repository ManagerThis is a featured page

Dell Repository Manager is an application that allows customized bundles and repositories to be created on systems running the Microsoft® Windows® OS. The customized bundles and repositories are made up of Dell Update Packages (DUPs) based on certain specified criteria. DUPs are software utilities provided by Dell to update specific software components on Dell™ PowerEdge™ servers. Using Repository Manager helps ensure that a PowerEdge server is equipped with the latest BIOS, driver, firmware, and software updates.

Repository Manager replaces Content Manager.

When scanning the ftp.dell.com repository the latest updates are from 3 june 2010 ?
But on support.dell.com there are already updates from july 2010 (36 updates for the past 30 days for the R710 (like OpenManage 6.3 / bios)

So while it sounds nice to have a tool to get the latest updates, you still have to go to support.dell.com to get more updates...

ryanc@stikc.com Creating ISO update media not working, Strange findings 1 Jul 29 2010, 2:53 PM EDT by ryanc@stikc.com
Thread started: Jul 29 2010, 1:29 PM EDT  Watch
I am having the same problem as anders post. I have tried 3-5 different models of PowerEdge servers and all of them have 4-8GB of memory so the 12GB max is not my problem. It hangs at "Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel" It just hangs here indefinitely. I have created individual bundles based on model type, ie. 1950,2950 and stripped out everything I don't need to make it sleaker but to no avail. Now here is where is gets strange. If I manually update the BIOS first to the latest, 2.6.1 for the 9 series, then the ISO update boots just fine but hangs at the end with "Exit status of the script is 1" and at this point I cannot get it to reboot, alt-ctrl-delete doesn't even work. I am forced to manually power off the server. Upon powering back on I notice nothing actually updated, the bmc, drack, perc, etc are all at their old fimrware levels. Anybody have any fixes on how to create bootable media that works? I am updating large amounts of servers that are in a Non OS environment. I want to update these from the post screen before an OS is installed. I would also be willing to boot using PXE into a Windows PE environment if that's and option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

anders_o The "Deployment Media" ISO doesn't seem to work 1 Jul 19 2010, 3:19 PM EDT by huntthemducks

Hi. I've exported my bundle as a "deployment media", and booted my PE R710 on it. However, when it's booted I just get a Linux screen saying "Tools provided in this bootable CD are intended only for advanced users...".

According to your user guides, this CD is supposed to start a firmware comparison and upgrade. Have I missed something? Isn't this the only way to make an updated bootable firmware upgrade CD?
