Power and Cooling
Welcome to the Power & Cooling section of the Blades Learning Lab. By combining servers, power supplies, fans, I/O interconnects, and KVM in a single blade enclosure, blades prove to be the most energy efficient server form factor. The PowerEdge M-Series blades allow you to be more efficient with your time, budget, and of course power and cooling resources.

| gschildknecht | PDU Mennekes red socket versus blue socket | 3 | Sep 9 2008, 7:41 AM EDT by Nepharim | |

I have bought a m1000e and I have received 2 PDU 30 amps 3-phase. The connection at the end is a red Mennekes 6h.
The provider in the datacenter has installed 2 blues containers and 2 blue sockets 9h (from Mennekes also). He said that there is no problem to change the plug by the blue one and connect to the blue containers. He wants to remove the plug from the PDU and replaces it by the blue. Can you confirm this? It is strange, if Dell provides me red plugs, there is some reasons. For me the red socket is for 400v and the blue is for 230V.

Ok, I have a rack into a colocation. I have seen that there is some cool air from the ground just before the rack. I suppose that I must place the front of m1000e. In this way, the enclosure call pull some fresh air and rejected the hot air.
Maybe I'm wrong, I can do the opposite way. If someone can give me some advices? Thanks,
