OpenManage Server Update Utility - SUUThis is a featured page

Dell™ OpenManage™ Server Update Utility (SUU) is a CD-based application for identifying and applying updates to your system. You can use SUU to update your Dell PowerEdge™ system or to view the updates available for any system supported by SUU.

SUU compares the versions of components currently installed on your system with update components packaged on the Dell PowerEdge Server Update Utility CD. SUU then displays a comparison report of the versions and provides the option of updating the components.

For the latest version, go to http://support.dell.com and search on "SUU"

This demo shows how Content Manager is used to keep a local repository of firmware/BIOS/driver updates from support.dell.com that can then be used to update your Dell PowerEdge Servers from a network share drive.

Can someone tell me if we can use SUU in Configmgr in order to install a dell server from A to Z?

benhanson SUU inclusion of HD Firmware info 6 Feb 21 2008, 1:19 PM EST by benhanson

I've been bitten twice in the last 3 months by SAS firmware issues. Both times I had spurious drive failures caused by bad firmware. Are there any plans to involve HD firmware checks in SUU? I realize you may not be able to update using the utility, but it would be nice if SUU at least notified me of firmware that was out of date. I've been relying on it to validate my basic firmware/driver versions.

It's a very handy utility BTW.
