santospl Restoring Dell Utility Partition during Task Sequence 1 Aug 18 2010, 9:59 AM EDT by jboehlke
Thread started: May 28 2010, 11:17 AM EDT  Watch
Dear Support,

We're using SCCM and Task Sequence to deploy image to multiple Dell systems. I'm trying to include a Dell Utility Partition as a part of the build.
When we receive a new laptop it already has a utility partition on it. So my task sequence is wiping C: drive and then proceed with next step. This pose an issue when we have a replacement blank hard disk.

I can format a disk during TS (1st small partition is hidden, 2nd partition is system). The question is how do I restore that partition to that hidden partition using TS. Is this partition available for download ? Is it supported during TS and if not how Dell is getting around it?

Thank you for your help
Santos

I have seen many people post asking how to recreate or restore the Dell Utility partition as part of their deployment process. I too am using SCCM and Microsoft Deployment and would like to know if there's a way to do this, or at least what other folks are doing to get this partition back onto their client systems.

Is Dell going to make a Driver pack for the Latitude 13 available? Also, when are there going to be Latitude Z600 x64 drivers?

Thanks.
